Prompting the AI Receptionist Directly for Better Control
Sometimes, you need your AI Receptionist to do something that even we haven't thought of yet! In that case: all you've got to do is prompt!
If you've had a chance to play with AI systems lately, you'll likely have heard of "prompt engineering" or similar terms. Don't let that term scare you, it's quite literally as simple as telling the AI what you want it to do. You can do it in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and you can do it in the Central AI Receptionist too!
Here's how you do it-
Step 1. Log in to your Central AI Receptionist dashboard. Look for the "Personalization" section in the sidebar, and then tap "Manage" right next to it.

Step 2. Modify the "Business Description/Prompt" field to tell Central AI what you need it to do on every call.
Today, I wanted the AI Receptionist to ask the user: "Is this a new or existing case?" and if it's a new case, I want it to be escalated directly to me so I can handle the new business myself.
Here's how I might do it. I might add to the bottom of the "Business Description/Prompt" the following-
At the beginning of the call, ask the customer "Is this a new, or existing case?" - if they indicate that it is a new case, then escalate the call to me, if it is an existing case, then offer to answer any questions they might have.
Here's where you might put it:

And that's it! Try out the AI Receptionist now! It should be able to do exactly what you need it to.
Bonus section. How prompting really works
The way prompt engineering works, is that you can direct Central AI to do anything you need it to, with the tools it has access to. For example, if you ask it to "update Hubspot with the client's name", it can't do that, because it doesn't have access to Hubspot yet.
However, if you ask it to "escalate to me" or to "offer to book a meeting" or to "check the knowledgebase", it can do all of that, as those are tools it has available to it at present!
If there's something you need that we don't quite yet offer, please tap "Feedback" and let us know what's on your mind! We love receiving feedback - until we build exactly what you need, though, please feel free to prompt your heart out!
